Mountain Bike Trails
Elevation from top to bottom is about 160 metres. Tracks start in natural bush meandering along ridgetops and through valleys. All tracks start in one place, then branch out and end up together at the collection point. In general, all tracks are downhill with only a few gentle uphill gradients. Those that want to utilise the shuttles, can buy passes and those that wish to cycle back up to the top, there is a designated track to use.
Grades of tracks start from grade 2 through to grade 5. Tracks are all clay-based therefore can only be ridden in dry to damp conditions.
The easier tracks will be fine for an average rider, probably not for kids under 10 (unless an experienced rider). We have a little pump track for young kids to ride on. There will be an obstacle track for those who want to test out their balance and skills.
There are 3 downhill tracks through the bush for more experienced riders. These are tight, twisty trails with some big drop offs. For the average to experienced rider, there are tight bush tracks which widen onto narrow trails.
There is a 900 metre jump track which consists of big rollers, table tops and tight berms. This track is designed for novice to experienced riders. Each rider can ride at their own pace and improve in time.
Riders will be shuttled to the start of the tracks at the top of the hill. From there, riders can meander their way down to the bottom where they will be uplifted. These tracks range from 1000 – 1500 metres long and there are 6 of them. The tracks range from family tracks, intermediate tracks and harder tracks for the adrenaline junkies.
The scooters have front and back disc brakes for fast stopping. Kids under 8 years old can go with parents on the scooters standing in front. By the end of the summer, these tracks will be metalled so can be utilised even in wetter conditions.
